This Family History Research site will be a never-ending project… we are hoping to get information, links, photos, and/or anything related to Family History/Genealogy Research added to this site to save researchers time and money. Are you having trouble getting started with your family history research? When doing family history research (also known as genealogy research), you should start out small, with what you already know or with your close relatives, and progress into more detailed tasks and research, as time and money permit. You should always begin with what you know and work backwards. We will warn you... family history research can be very addicting! However, it is very rewarding, and can be lots of fun!
Family history research involves several different tasks. It is exciting because you will learn about or improve your skills in many areas. It will help you to become a better organizer, writer, speaker and researcher on multiple topics. It will improve your computer skills as you may eventually need to use a spreadsheet, a word processing program, email and/or genealogy software, or possibly other software programs. Family history research sometimes is like a second career. You’ll gain skills in court house and old record research, land record research, communication and detective work. You may even learn how to read maps better, use the internet to find places and how to do better searches for data. This can be however rewarding you want it to be.
This genealogy site is meant to help family history research beginners learn the basics of researching their family history. It is also meant for more advanced genealogy researchers, who may need some of the records we present on this site, as well as a refresher on specific or general techniques. This is a free family history research site. We have already paid an enormous amount of money to learn about researching; and by joining genealogy web sites, by taking classes, buying software, and many other avenues. There is little reason for you to buy a bunch of products to learn how to do good family history research. Our goal is to help others to find their ancestors and any information regarding their family history for little or no fee. We are hoping other researchers, or anyone who has been left with family or historical knowledge or information of any kind will help us in our endeavor by contributing information, photos, links, etc. regarding their families or any family history/genealogy.
The only links you will find on our ‘RELATED LINKS’ page will be FREE for you to use. We will not add any links to this page that you need to buy a subscription to, or that you have to pay a fee to belong to… There are many FREE FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCH websites available, you just need to know where to find them. It is our hope to find as many of them as possible and get that information to you. (*please note these may change after we have added the link to our site)
